Micro Saint is a full-featured, discrete, event simulation system thathas been available on microcomputers and workstations for eight years.It has been used to model a wide variety of systems, includingmanufacturing, health-care, and military systems.With Micro Saint, users define their model by drawing an activity networkthat describes the flow of activities in the system being modeled. Thenusers can define attributes regarding each activity from things as simpleas "time to perform the activity" or as complex as a detailed descriptionof the logic that will be used in selecting following activities. Userscan define queues and other events that are not included in the network,and an "animation" linked to the execution of the model.Output of Micro Saint includes resources utilization, queueing data and avariety of other built-in and user-defined system performance data.
